CLASS OF ‘62 (to tune of PIANO MAN)

It’s a 50th reunion at Meadowview

The old folks all shuffle in

There’s an old guy staring right at me

Aw crap, it’s my reflection again

There at a table sit the Lynn View girls

Still wild at heart I hear

Well, they go to the Smokey’s to paint the town

And hang their bras on chandeliers

Sing us a song, you’re a wannabe

From the class of ‘62   (Chorus 1)

Well, we’re all in the mood for a story or two

To see who’s been actin’ afool

Two football players have done quite well

One made a killing in stocks

While it may sound funny, the other made his money

Dealin’ in porta pots

Now we had some practical jokers

Who liked to play with snakes

They did their best, to hide one in a desk

Made poor Mrs. Hobbs go ape

We had some late night excursions

To roll someone’s yard in haste

But now that we’re older, we know toilet paper

Is much too important to waste

Some classmates took honors by making  straight A’s

Some made it with little to spare

But 50 years later, the letters that matter

Are the ones after Medicare

Sing us a song, you’re a wannabe

From the class of ‘62     (Chorus 1)

Well, we’re all in the mood for a story or two

To see who’s been actin’ afool

Now the dining room looks like a pharmacy

As everyone gulps down their meds

And it’s only eight, but it’s getting late

Cause it’s time to get ready for bed

But everyone puts on their best face

Nobody bolts for the door

But land sakes alive, when we do 55

Let’s get this thing started at four

Oh, sing us a song, you’re a wannabe

From the old Lynn View High School  (chorus 2)

Now I’ve sung all the stories I have to weave

About the class of ‘62
